Vargas University Scholarship Application
Jose Maria Vargas University Institutional Scholarships are open to all applicants who are interested in pursuing a degree in Psychology, Preschool Education, Graphic Design, Accounting and Business Administration at Jose Maria Vargas University.
All institutional scholarships are awarded prior to the student’s first semester and carried throughout the student’s JMVU academic career (pending on maintaining satisfactory academic progress and complying with the general terms for the scholarships, as outlined below).
JMVU scholarships are very competitive and limited, granted on a first come, first served basis. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. JMVU scholarships cover $15,000 to $30,000 of tuition (depending on credits enrolled). JMVU scholarships do not cover costs for books or other fees. These scholarships do not require a minimum score in the SAT or other entrance examinations. Applicants are evaluated individually on overall profile from supporting documentation, interview, and on-campus essay. All applicants will be advised about determination of scholarship via email approximately two to four weeks from date of the interview.

Enrollment in at least 8-15 credits, depending on the scholarship
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Supporting documents: Personal statement, Resume, three letters of recommendation. Transcripts or certificates of previous coursework are optional, but recommended.
Interview with Student Development Director; Applicants will complete an on-campus essay of a randomly selected topic on the day of their interview.
Terms and conditions:
Maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0
Responsible for 20 volunteer hours per semester for the partial scholarship and 40 hours per semester for the full scholarship at JMVU, in the case the university may request it.
Always represent the university in a positive manner.
If student drops out of JMVU or fails any class(es), the student will lose the scholarship.
Failure to follow these expectations can and will lead to the revocation of the university academic scholarships.
